RNZ Governance Review – Board Structure

Circular 2302 – Proposed Revised Board Structure and Voting Model

READ HERE // CIRCULAR 2302 – Proposed Revised Board Structure and Voting Model – 19 May 2023

Following the 2022 Annual Conference, Harness Racing New Zealand (HRNZ) collated the feedback from clubs and kindred bodies regarding the proposed new Board structure and voting model for HRNZ, and identified areas where greater clarity was sought from clubs and kindred bodies.

NZSBA’s submission is reprinted on page 9 of our latest Breeding Matters www.thebreeders.co.nz – accessed via the Flowpaper reader.

The HRNZ Board has reviewed the responses from clubs and kindred bodies and has detailed the proposed Board structure and voting model in this circular. The feedback from clubs and kindred bodies is to get the best people on the Board and for the Board to perform a strategic and governance function, which is the intention behind the Racing Industry Act 2020 (the Act).

This proposal will be considered at a Special General Meeting on 10 July 2023. Comments on this proposal are due 31 May 2023.

To:  All Clubs & Kindred Bodies, HRNZ Board & Management

Hi all,

On behalf of Catherine McDonald (GM Racing), the 2023/24 Racing Calendar has been finalised and a copy is attached, for your information.

Both the betting licences and betting licence conditions will be issued by TAB NZ management to all clubs receiving a licence, in June 2023.

Catherine would like to express her thanks to all clubs for their input into the process.  The creation of the final calendar has been a comprehensive, robust and collaborative process between TAB NZ and the three codes in consultation with clubs.

If you have any queries regarding the racing calendar, please contact Catherine at (catherine@hrnz.co.nz).
